Liverpool are ready to table an improved offer for Swansea striker Wilfried Bony as they continue to reshape their squad ahead of the 2014-15 season, Goal understands.
Swansea are determined to maximise any potential fee for Bony and are looking to get around €24 million [£19m] for the star from Liverpool, who have money to spend having agreed a deal to sell Luis Suarez to Barcelona for €95m [£75m].
Goal understands Liverpool have so far offered €16m [£12.5m] for the Ivory Coast international, but are now ready to raise it to €19m [£15m], plus significant add-ons.
Bony, who scored two goals at the World Cup in addition to his 26 club goals for 2013-14, has also attracted interest from Tottenham, and the north Londoners remain interested in acquiring the 25-year-old.
Swansea are aware of the interest from the two clubs and are open to a sale, having signed Bafetimbi Gomis from Lyon, but are intent on not letting him go on the cheap.
In addition to Gomis, the Welsh club also have forwards Marvin Emnes and Rory Donnelly on their books and have been linked with a €6m [£5m] move for Watford striker Troy Deeney.
Liverpool still have money to spend and have already signed four players, with Adam Lallana, Rickie Lambert, Emre Can and Lazar Markovic all moving to Anfield in this close-season as the club seek to rebuild following the departure of Suarez.
