The Uruguayan was recognised for his standout efforts on Sunday by being named Player of the Year and, in a short video, he thanks his peers for voting for him
Liverpool striker Luis Suarez has thanked his fellow players for anointing him PFA Player of the Year.
The Uruguayan hitman was rewarded by his peers for a season in which he has scored 30 goals and made 12 assists so far in the Premier League, despite missing the start of the campaign through suspension.
“We’ve just arrived from the Player of the Year awards,” Suarez enthused in a video posted to his official YouTube account, with the trophy in his arms.
“I’m very happy with this award – thanks to all of the players who voted for me.
“Congratulations to all of my team-mates too; I couldn’t have won this award without them.
“Special thanks to Sofia, my wife, who is here to enjoy it with me, and to my two children, who I love with all my soul.
“And thanks to all of the supporters who have helped me too.”
