Hull City secured a surprise 3-1 win over a Daniel Sturridge-less Liverpool at the KC Stadium on Sunday.
Jake Livermore seized the advantage for the hosts on the 20-minute mark when his long-ranged shot took a deflection past Simon Mignolet but Steven Gerrard delivered a riposte shortly afterwards by netting a free kick.
A defensive shambles proved the Reds’ undoing, however, as David Meyler was given room and opportunity to finish from the edge of the box with just under 20 minutes left.
Their indignity was confirmed with five minutes remaining when Martin Skrtel headed Tom Huddlestone’s off-target effort into his own net.
