Pete Nordsted: Two weekend tips from the Both Teams to Score market

Pete has chosen to continue with his strategy of finding betting opportunites in the Both Teams to Score market and has two weekend tips from the Premier League

It may be a new campaign but after the success of last season’s system bet, identifying games where backing “No” in the Both Teams to Score market proved very effective, that is where the focus will remain for this season.

Here we are following a system bet and you are advised to keep stakes reasonable and always try and obtain the best price available.

This weekend we have two strong looking selections in the Premier League where Liverpool open the season at Anfield against Stoke and Manchester City begin their campaign on Monday evening against Newcastle.

Brendan Rodgers will be hoping to put the ongoing Luis Suarez situation behind him when the Reds take on Stoke City, who will be playing their first match under the stewardship of Mark Hughes.

There are some strong stats here that suggest we will not see both teams scoring, including the fact that in the previous five head-to-head matches at Anfield Stoke are yet to find the net. Interestingly though, three of these five matches ended scoreless.

Further to this, both teams have found the net in only four of Stoke’s last 13 away matches to teams of Liverpool’s grading and as far as the hosts are concerned then both teams have scored in only two of their last 15 at home to teams of Stoke’s stature.

Both Teams to Score Stat
Stoke have failed to find the net in any of their last five visits to Anfield including three games that finished 0-0.

The “NO” outcome on both teams to score can be backed at 4/6 (1.67) and even at this low price it looks to offer some good value. If you are feeling a little braver then Liverpool can be backed to win to nil at 11/10 (2.10) again

Next we move to Monday evening where Manchester City take on Newcastle United. This season City have new manager Manuel Pellegrini at the helm will be looking to improve on the fairly disappointing last season, where they finished 11 points behind near neighbours Manchester United, and they will be looking to get their season off to a positive start.

Newcastle United have scored in four of the last five head-to-head matches at the Etihad. However, in Manchester City’s last 15 home games to teams of Newcastle’s grading they have won 13 of these matches to nil and here City are priced at 11/10 (2.10) to win without conceding.

In terms of our strategy the “NO” outcome on Both teams to score can be backed at 5/6 (1.83) with BetVictor and this looks a solid bet given the above.

Liverpool v Stoke
Manchester City v Newcastle
