The Fulham manager recruited the Uruguayan when he was in charge of Ajax and concedes that he has a “problem” but is confident that he will come back even better
Liverpool forward Luis Suarez has a “problem” with biting but will learn from his 10-game suspension, feels Fulham manager Martin Jol.
The Dutchman signed the striker when he was in charge of Eredivisie giants Ajax, where the Uruguayan landed himself in hot water by sinking his teeth into Ottman Bakkal in November 2010.
He has since repeated the offence on Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic but Jol, who describes his former charge as “a nice boy”, is confident that he will grow up.
“Luis is a terrific player but he has this problem. He did it with me in Holland,” the Cottagers’ boss told reporters.
“He will learn from this and he will be better next year.”
Jol revealed that Suarez, who scored 30 goals this season before his suspension, has visited him for advice whenever Fulham have played near Liverpool.
The striker will be unavailable for the Reds when they visit Craven Cottage on Sunday.
