The England striker has scored five goals in his last seven starts for the Hammers but admits he is unsure of where his future lies as a permanent deal has yet to be agreed

Andy Carroll is open to a permanent move to “fantastic” West Ham in the summer from Liverpool but remains unsure of where he will play next season.

It is believed the Hammers have the option of signing the former Newcastle striker on a permanent basis before his loan expires, though no deal has yet been agreed.

The 24-year-old, who signed for Liverpool for £35m in 2011 and struggled to make an impact at Anfield, has also been linked with a return to St James’ Park but admits his future is still undecided.

“I don’t know what is happening so we will just have to wait and see what happens at the end of the season,” Carroll told reporters.

“It has been great here and every minute has been fantastic. The lads have been great, the gaffer has been great and the fans are unbelievable.

“We will have to wait and see. It is obviously a great club and I do not see why not.”

Carroll endured a torrid start to life at Upton Park, plagued by injury, but has found form in recent weeks, scoring five goals in his last seven games and netting in West Ham’s 1-1 draw with Southampton on Saturday.

“I have had a few injuries over the years and I am just getting over them now so it is good to get on a run of games and goals,” continued Carroll.

“With my goal [against Saints], I just had to hit the target. Obviously it got a little bit of a deflection and went in, which sometimes happens.

“I had a few chances and I think we could have won the game in the end. We are disappointed not to but happy we got the point.

“It was a bit windy. The ball was all over the place but we came here and got a result. In the first half I was getting blocked off and there was a few players around me. I was talking to the referee a bit but it was a difficult day to me.”
