‘My dream is to play at the top level,’ says Liverpool target Tom Ince

The Blackpool winger, who has been the subject of sustained interest from the Reds, expresses his ambition to play at a Premier League club when he is ready to do so

Blackpool winger Tom Ince says that it “my dream to play at the top level” amid continued interest from Liverpool.

The Reds, who let the youngster leave their ranks in 2011, have been chasing their former charge after his fine form in the Championship and, when he is ready to do so, the England Under-21s international is keen to test himself at such a club.

“My dream is to play at the top level and to achieve my ambitions but it’s all about timing and patience, so when you get to the top you are ready to go and not jumping too soon,” Ince explained to reporters.

“There was something about Liverpool coming in for me in January and to go to a top club like that would have been fantastic but I have to realise it’s about playing football and I don’t think any of the moves were close.

“It’s great having that speculation and it’s very flattering. To have teams of that magnitude saying you’re a decent player, it gives me a smile and flatters me a lot.”

Since leaving Anfield, the 21-year-old has blossomed at Bloomfield Road, where he is now manager by his father, former England star Paul Ince.

“For me it’s about putting my faith in Blackpool because without that club, my team-mates and the fans I wouldn’t be Football League Young Player of the Year and the player I am now,” the youngster enthused.
