Liverpool – Fulham Betting Preview: Suarez can lead Reds to much-needed home win

Liverpool slumped to a 3-1 home defeat at the hands of Aston Villa last weekend, but the Reds will be desperate to make amends for that loss when they face Fulham at Anfield on Saturday evening.

Despite last week’s defeat, the odds compilers have kept their faith with the home side and Liverpool can be backed at just 8/15 (1.53) to bounce back by claiming all three points against Martin Jol’s side.

Fulham are enduring a dreadful run of form, having won just one of their last nine matches, and it is no surprise to see the Cottagers available at a chunky 5/1 (6.0) to upset the Reds this weekend, while the same firm go 16/5 (4.20) that the match ends in a draw.

Seven of Fulham’s last nine fixtures have featured at least three goals, while Liverpool’s last two outings have produced no fewer than nine, so it unsurprising to see Bet365 offering just 7/10 (1.70) that three or more goals are scored.

It is worth noting that the Cottagers have kept just two clean sheets in their last 13 matches and this looks to be exactly the type of fixture that Brendan Rodgers’ side need in order to get their league campaign back on track.

Should Jol’s side fail to tighten up at the back, Luis Suarez is surely the man most likely to inflict damage on the Cottagers’ chances of securing a positive result.

Suarez has managed an impressive 10 goals in 16 Premier League outings for the Reds this term and is available at a tempting 7/2 (4.50) to score the first goal of the game, while the same firm offer 10/11 (1.91) that the deadly Uruguay international scores at any time.

The Anfield club have often failed to fire this season but, with Fulham struggling, the home side should register a comfortable victory here.

It may be worth taking a chance on the hugely tempting 13/10 (2.30) quote from Bet365 for Liverpool (-1) in the handicap market this weekend.
