Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has asserted that the Raheem Sterling’s contract issues will be resolved soon enough.
Sterling turned 18 last weekend and, with big clubs reportedly interested in the youngster, the Reds are looking to tie the hot prospect down to a long-term deal.
The pacy wideman has featured heavily for the Merseyside club this season, having won many admirers after playing in all but two of Liverpool’s Premier League games.
After being asked whether he was concerned that a deal was yet to be announced, Rodgers was dismissive, conveying his confidence that the contract talks will be settled before long.
“No, [I’m] not at all [concerned],” he told reporters. “That will be resolved I’m sure, fairly soon.”
The Northern Irishman was keen to lavish praise on his young starlet, as he lauded his ability to remain focused on his football.
“He’s a kid who has got this special ability so that no matter what is going on, he doesn’t get too involved with it,” he continued.
“He focuses on his football. Hopefully, it stays that way.”
