Rodgers hints at January arrivals at Liverpool

Liverpool boss Brendan Rodgers has hinted at the possibility of adding to his squad in the January transfer window.

The Reds were left with just two senior strikers following a disastrous final day of the summer window, in which Andy Carroll was loaned to West Ham whilst the Anfield outfit failed to secure a replacement.

With Fabio Borini ruled out due to a broken foot sustained on international duty, Rodgers has found himself short up top, but hopes to correct that in the near future.

“I’ve had good conversations with the owners and they understand where we are at as a team at the moment,” he told reporters.

“If we can get our best 11 players on the pitch then our team is comparable to any team in the league.”

Liverpool currently sit in 14th place in the Premier League, having gained just seven points from their opening six fixtures.
