Much-changed Liverpool to edge Young Boys in tight affair

Liverpool have been handed a tough Europa League group, with dangerous opponents to come in the form of big-spending Anzhi Makhachkala and Udinese.

But first up in Group A is an away trip to Young Boys of Bern. You can bet on us at Top Bet as Liverpool are unbeaten against Swiss opposition in 40 years and could do with a strong start to their campaign.

But Young Boys have proven in the past that they can be tricky opponents for Premier League teams. They beat Tottenham in a Champions League qualifier at home in 2010.

The Argentine striker has been in good scoring form on his return to Switzerland after a spell at Borussia Monchengladbach. But he’s not the favourite to score first. Liverpool’s Luis Suarez is.

The question is how likely is Suarez to start this game?

Brendan Rodgers will surely have one eye on Sunday’s showdown with Manchester United in the Premier League and that could mean opportunities for fringe players.

Joe Cole may return from injury as Rodgers shakes things up.

But whoever plays, the signs are that the new Reds boss wants his players to keep things tight on their travels – Liverpool have scored three and conceded four in four away games so far.

And for the value bet, remember that both of Liverpool’s away games in Europe this season have finished with a 1-0 win.
