JD’s Betting Blog: Back Real Madrid to win their Champions League group

The international round of fixtures is over and we are back to the bread and butter of club football in order to make some money on the betting markets. Last week I had only a limited involvement in the World Cup qualifiers, with two out of three successful bets earning a small profit.

We also have the return of the group stages of the Champions League and Europa League next week so it is a very exciting time to be involved in football betting.

I wrote an article last week on the huge increase in people now betting and trading in the sports markets in a professional way as an alternative to mainstream investments.

Many people including my own members treat their betting like a business with a view to earning a genuine income.

You can do the same with a disciplined approach. The tax free status of your winnings, the ease of information available about teams and you controlling your financial destiny through your own decisions are all advantages of football betting as an income. If you are a football fan, there is no better way in the world to make money.

The Champions League kicks off next week and Group D features Real Madrid, Manchester City  Borussia Dortmund and Ajax. It looks a very tasty group on paper. Take the 10/11 (1.91) with about Jose Mourinho’s troops finishing top of that group.

The Liga champions open their campaign at home to City and a victory for them will see their odds to win the group shorten significantly, so move early. They are comfortably the best team in this group and will win the majority of their matches.

Looking ahead to the weekend, Sunderland can inflict more pain on Liverpool and are priced at 13/10 (2.30) on a draw no bet basis with .  Martin O’Neill’s sides are always highly motivated and have added quality to their ranks in the transfer window with Adam Johnson and Steven Fletcher.

Liverpool tend to attract alot of support in the market but they will face a tough task here to get anything. In Spain, the match of the weekend is between Sevilla and Real Madrid.

Sevilla have been beaten 6-2 on the last two occasions Real Madrid have visited. Los Blancos to score in both halves is an attractive option priced at 6/5 (2.20) with and better than the 8/13 (1.62) on offer for a straight victory.
