Jon Flanagan Injury Latest 2015- Defender to be out for close to nine months

Jon Flanagan has suffered a further setback after undergoing surgery on a troublesome knee problem and is likely to be out for anywhere between six and nine months. Flanagan suffered the injury in pre-season and hasn’t played a game for Liverpool this season, but was on the road to recovery and played in the Gerrard vs Carragher charity game.

However Flanagan’s knee problem resurfaced and he was again advised surgery.

Flanagan is out of contract at Anfield in the summer, and while he does have a role in Brendan Rodgers’ future plans for the team, it is imperative for him to prove his fitness and get some games under his belt

Sturridge may not play again this season- Brendan Rodgers

Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers has indicated that Daniel Sturridge is unlikely to take any further part this season. Sturridge has struggled with injuries in recent months and has appeared in only 18 of Liverpool’s 53 games this season in all competitions, approximately one third of the Reds’ games.

Rodgers has often voiced his frustration at not being able to always field a fully fit proven goalscorer in his XI, and his comments have cast doubts over Sturridge’s future if his injuries continue. Continue reading
