LFC team up with Aspire 4 Sport

Liverpool Football Club today announced it is continuing its successful partnership with Aspire 4 Sport in Qatar and will host a series of football clinics later this year.

Liverpool FC has a long distinguished history of delivering successful community programmes and a visit by the club to Qatar in January 2012 laid the foundations for a strong partnership between LFC and the United Nations (UN), which is primarily aimed at helping children from war-torn and impoverished countries.

Liverpool were approached by the UN in November 2011 to be the Premier League’s representative in this project due to its global appeal, and since then the partnership with Aspire 4 Sport has gone from strength to strength.

A press conference was held today to confirm the announcement of the partnership, which took place in Qatar’s National Olympic Committee’s House ‘Bayt Qatar’ at Savoy Place in London.

LFC managing director Ian Ayre will be speaking at the Aspire 4 Sport conference in Qatar later this year and Kop hero Ian Rush will also be in attendance and run a number of football clinics.

Gary Adlen, foundation director for Liverpool FC, said: “It’s an exciting time for football in Qatar and we are delighted to once again partner Aspire 4 Sport and provide Liverpool FC soccer clinics for underprivileged children.

“As a global brand, our Liverpool FC Foundation is going from strength to strength and supporting major international programmes like this is a key part of our strategy going forward.”

Portugese ace Teixeira went close with a free-kick and Conor Coady hit the bar with almost the last kick of the game, and overall it was a very good display from Borrell’s charges.
