Jordan Henderson has been appointed as Liverpool’s new captain for the 2015/16 Premier League season following the offseason departure of Steven Gerrard to MLS club LA Galaxy.

Jordan Henderson has committed his long term future to Liverpool by inking a fresh 5 year contract with the Reds, rumoured to be worth £100,000 a week. The new contract will keep Henderson at Anfield till 2020.

Liverpool skipper Jordan Henderson’s wife Rebecca Burnett gave birth to their second child yesterday, just hours before the Reds’ 1-0 FA Cup win over Blackburn Rovers. Henderson promised manager Brendan Rodgers that he’d be back at Anfield as soon as his child was born, and was able to return for the game, and even provided the assist for Coutinho’s winning goal.
